About the position

The Children's Behavioral Health Clinician at Ketchikan Indian Community (KIC) is responsible for providing clinical behavioral health services to Tribal members aged 2 to 20. This role involves assessing clients' situations, developing treatment plans, and delivering individual and family counseling. The clinician will coordinate counseling services, document progress, and collaborate with community agencies to ensure comprehensive care. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including evening and weekend hours, and involves fieldwork at various locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical behavioral health services to Tribal members aged 2 to 20 experiencing mental health symptoms.
• Conduct individual and family psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and rehabilitation services as necessary.
• Perform screenings, intake assessments, and interviews with clients and family members.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives.
• Document progress in compliance with department, state, and federal policies and regulations.
• Provide referrals to appropriate agencies and related services.
• Collaborate with community and state agencies for a continuum of care.
• Participate in clinical staffing and weekly supervision within the Behavioral Health Department.
• Follow professional code of ethics including confidentiality and individual rights.

Requirements

• Current valid State of Alaska driver's license with an acceptable record.
• Alaska State licensure as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychological Associate required.
• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Two to five years of post-graduate work experience required.
• Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.

• Familiarity with social problems experienced by Alaska Natives and American Indians.
