About the position

The Behavioral Health Consultant plays a crucial role in providing direct patient and family care through assessments, consultations, and therapeutic interventions. This position involves working across multiple locations within the Community Health Network, focusing on delivering exceptional behavioral health services and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support patient health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient/family care through assessments, collateral consultation, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and triage patients accurately in various settings.
  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral health interventions for diverse patient populations.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to manage urgent behavioral health needs and support medical treatment plans.
  • Mentor, train, and orient new Behavioral Health Consultants, serving as a resource for mental health challenges.
  • Plan, develop, and facilitate trainings on bio-psychosocial approaches for the team.
  • Document patient interactions appropriately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Integrate applicable research into clinical protocols and actively participate in professional development.

Requirements

  • LCSW or LMHC license in the State of Indiana required.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health-related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment required.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with conventional therapies such as CBT, MI, ACT, and complementary therapies like meditation and relaxation techniques.
  • Ability to effectively treat a wide scope of behavioral health issues, including trauma and relationship issues.
