About the position

The Behavioral Health Intervention Counselor will work with the Community Health and Wellness Research team on the Resilience project, which is an NIH R01 funded study aimed at improving the psychosocial health and well-being of Early Childhood Education (ECE) staff through a remotely delivered workplace resilience intervention. This role involves creating intervention content, leading the Stress Management And Resilience Training (SMART) intervention, and assisting with data collection and recruitment efforts. The position is hybrid, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating intervention protocols and content messaging tailored to the child care provider population.
  • Lead the SMART intervention with child care directors and staff, including orientation, coaching calls, webinars, and weekly messaging.
  • Create and maintain an intervention tracking database.
  • Assist with the physical activity control arm intervention.
  • Monitor study email and admin portal, respond to program text messaging, and document progress.
  • Perform study protocols for remote recruitment and online data collection of child care centers and staff.
  • Contribute to the preparation of NIH, Clinical Trials, and Data Safety Monitoring reports and IRB modifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related training or experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Excellent active listening, facilitation, and empathy skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in remote communication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Canva.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in Public Health, psychology, counseling, human services, nursing, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience communicating with clients or participants remotely (e.g., webinars, telehealth).
  • Knowledge of early childhood education settings.
  • Experience with counseling or motivational interviewing.
  • Experience working with diverse populations with varied education levels and digital literacy.
  • Experience in psychological, social, behavioral health, or health-related fields.
