About the position

The Primary Care Behavioral Health Program Manager oversees a continuum of services delivered by Behavioral Health Professionals within El Rio's primary care clinics and fully integrated health homes. This role focuses on promoting quality patient and clinician experiences, ensuring efficient access to care, maximizing service utilization, achieving positive financial results, and improving health outcomes. The manager collaborates closely with leaders across various departments to facilitate effective teamwork and seamless service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recruitment and retention of Behavioral Health Professionals to ensure a high degree of clinician satisfaction and quality clinical outcomes.
  • Provide administrative oversight of behavioral health professionals delivering lifestyle medicine services and crisis triage.
  • Accountable for positive financial results through strategic planning and efficient access to Behavioral Health Professionals.
  • Collaborate with key leaders in Behavioral Health, Medical, and Nursing to align services across the care continuum.
  • Ensure timely communications to facilitate effective teamwork across departments and disciplines.
  • Promote collaborative care approaches with Behavioral Health Medical Professionals and Primary Care Providers.
  • Participate in various departments, committees, and workgroups to achieve key deliverables and support organizational improvement.
  • Provide a range of services including primary care behavioral health, crisis management, and coordination of care to patients.
  • Conduct health behavior assessments and interventions, and coordinate care related to various health conditions.
  • Cultivate education and self-management skills for targeted populations with comorbid medical and mental health conditions.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience in a health care environment, preferably in an integrated primary care/behavioral health setting.
  • Seven (7) years of direct clinical experience in behavioral health settings with at least three (3) years in an integrated primary care/behavioral health setting.
  • Independently Licensed Behavioral Health Professional in the state of Arizona (LCSW, LPC or Licensed Psychologist).

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. or Doctorate in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of supervisory experience in a health care environment, preferably in an integrated primary care/behavioral health setting.
  • Ten (10) years of direct clinical experience in behavioral health settings with at least five (5) years in an integrated primary care/behavioral health setting.
