About the position

The Behavioral Health Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple substance use contracts for adults and adolescents within the Department of Children and Families in Connecticut. This full-time position requires managing large, multi-faceted projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The role emphasizes strong organizational and communication skills, as well as knowledge of substance use disorders and trauma-informed care principles.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple substance use contracts for adults and adolescents.
  • Manage large multi-faceted projects involving multiple disciplines and agencies.
  • Coordinate with other Behavioral Health Program Managers and state agencies.
  • Supervise other projects and manage million-dollar budgets and contracts.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to clarify expectations and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in meetings with project teams and Department leadership to relay progress.
  • Serve as the point of contact for contracts and perform quality control on projects.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in business or health care administration, program development, or social services.
  • Experience in financial management, budget development, or grants management.
  • Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder and ASAM Criteria.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience utilizing data to monitor and improve program performance.
  • Experience with program and fiscal evaluation of contracted human service programs.
  • Experience with Medicaid systems and Department of Public Health Substance Use Standards.
  • Experience with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM 3rd Edition).
  • Experience working with Excel, including pivot tables and SharePoint.
