About the position

The Behavioral Health Provider for SUD/MAT Services at The HealthCare Connection in Cincinnati, OH, is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care to clients experiencing substance use disorders within a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program. This role involves providing individual, group, and family therapy, conducting clinical assessments, and developing treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to address both behavioral and medical aspects of substance use treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care for clients with substance use disorders within a MAT program.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as clinical assessments and treatment planning.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations for mental health and substance abuse.
  • Facilitate medication adherence counseling and disease self-management counseling.
  • Provide evidence-based behavioral health therapies such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Educate and train primary care team members on mental health and chemical dependency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans regularly.
  • Identify referral resources and facilitate referrals for additional services.
  • Engage in crisis intervention and risk assessment, including suicide prevention.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on substance use and recovery processes.
  • Maintain thorough clinical documentation in accordance with policies and standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or related field from an accredited program.
  • MH Licensed in State of Ohio (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.) or eligibility for licensure required.
  • LCDC Licensed in State of Ohio (LCDCII, LCDCIII, LICDC, LICDC-S).
  • Three or more years of MAT related experience with population-based healthcare principles.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MAT and behavioral medicine.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and community resources.
  • Broad background of training and experience with diverse patient populations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in addiction services, particularly with MAT programs.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Previous EMR experience, particularly with Nextgen.
