About the position

The Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for delivering behavior-specific services to clients, focusing on improving daily living skills, anger management, social skills, and resource support. This role collaborates with clinical and case management staff to ensure comprehensive service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual and group counseling
  • In collaboration with clinical staff and clients, formulates, implements and evaluates client care objectives
  • Provides crisis de-escalation
  • Establishes positive, nurturing relationships with clients within professional boundaries and in accordance with agency policy
  • Attends CFT team meetings, case conferences, staff meetings, school meetings, and in-service trainings
  • Provides case management services
  • Completes Needs and Services Plan for clients monthly
  • Meets weekly with supervisor concerning client and program issues
  • Maintains thorough documentation in compliance with EBHS Policies and Procedures, State of California regulations for Med-Cal, and DHCS STRTP regulations
  • Completes progress notes within 48 hours of session
  • Works hours determined by the needs of clients
  • Meets required productivity requirements
  • Participates in peer reviews
  • Participates in agency/program Performance and Quality Improvement projects
  • Adheres to agency safety protocols
  • Performs other duties within the specialist's scope of practice as prescribed by supervisor

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with two years of experience in a comparable mental health agency, or
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with four years of experience in a comparable mental health agency, or
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with six years of experience in a comparable mental health agency
  • Valid California Driver's License and an insurable driving record
  • Criminal record and health clearances
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and deadlines, and flexibility to function in a fast-paced environment
