About The Position

OhioGuidestone is the state's leader in community behavioral health care, serving around 26,000 Ohioans each year. We focus on the needs of the whole person by providing telehealth and in-person prevention services, as well as mental health and substance use treatment. As we help people navigate the most difficult times in their lives—with compassion and respect—we ultimately empower them to take steps towards a healthier future. Our Counseling department seeks a passionate and excited individual to provide services to a diverse clientele with mental health diagnoses. Behavioral Health Specialists provide case management and qualified mental health services to OhioGuidestone clients needing behavioral interventions and guidance. This position offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to create your own schedule while making a significant impact in your community. The Behavioral Health Specialist will monitor client symptoms and responses to treatment, communicating changes with the treatment team to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions. You will develop and maintain a service relationship with clients, families, and caregivers, coordinating community resources to ensure continuity of care and acting as an advocate for clients as needed. In times of emergencies, you will provide crisis intervention consultation for coordination and assistance in crisis management and stabilization. Additionally, you will facilitate appointments to ensure overall physical well-being, including basic, mental health, and substance use needs. Your role will also involve reviewing Diagnostic Evaluations and additional assessments to aid in the ongoing development and implementation of individualized treatment plans (ITP). You will attend and participate in agency, team, and clinical meetings, including mandatory trainings, and treatment coordination. Administrative responsibilities include maintaining client information, reports, records, and other documents, responding timely to emails and phone calls, and communicating with other agencies regarding required paperwork and contract compliance. You will document and maintain the confidentiality of client and family interactions, including legal, financial, and clinical documentation within agency guidelines. Regular supervision meetings with your supervisor will be part of your routine, along with maintaining ongoing contact with other assigned OhioGuidestone professionals and outside agency professionals assigned to cases. Promoting an inclusive work environment and presenting the Agency positively with all internal and external contacts is essential. You will exhibit positivity, flexibility, and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required. The Therapeutic Behavioral Service (TBS) activities will include consultation with licensed practitioners, referral and linkage to other services, interventions using evidence-based techniques, and crisis prevention and amelioration. This position is ideal for individuals who are mission-driven and have a strong desire to make an impact in their community. If you are looking to make a difference and have the qualifications we seek, we encourage you to apply!
