About the position

The Behavioral Health Specialist at Soar Autism Center plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of children on the autism spectrum through specialized ABA therapy. This position involves providing one-on-one therapy, implementing intervention plans, and fostering relationships with families to support children's development. The role is integral to the center's mission of delivering innovative and effective care, guided by the principles of the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM).

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children aged 2-6 in the clinic, adhering to high professional standards.
  • Implement intervention plans crafted by expert BCBAs, ensuring alignment with ABA therapy principles.
  • Foster relationships with families, consistently updating them on their child's progress within the ABA framework.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development, keeping up-to-date with advancements in ABA therapy and relevant certifications.

Requirements

  • Strong preference for either enrollment in or completion of a degree program, preferably in Child Development, Psychology, or related fields.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain relevant certifications (Soar will provide paid training).
  • Previous experience with children and enjoyment working with them.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Must have reliable transportation to both training location and local center.
  • Punctuality is essential.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements: sit and stand frequently, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods, sit in a chair, stand, walk, and occasionally run short distances.
