About the position

The Behavioral Health Supervisor oversees the daily operations of Behavioral Health staff in a residential treatment facility, ensuring that client activities are conducted effectively and in alignment with clinical and treatment goals. This role involves managing staff schedules, conducting performance reviews, and maintaining a supportive environment for clients in recovery. The supervisor is responsible for quality assurance, staff training, and collaboration with clinical teams to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Behavioral Health staff and oversee daily client activities.
  • Maintain staff schedules and manage time, including reviewing and approving time cards.
  • Conduct performance reviews and quality assurance checks for residential facilities.
  • Provide coaching and make recommendations for disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Participate in interviews, onboarding, and training of staff.
  • Attend local leadership meetings as requested by the Behavioral Health Director.
  • Maintain documentation of staff training and collaborate with HR on staffing activities.
  • Coordinate client transportation and outside appointments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years' experience in substance use, mental health, or healthcare field, or a Bachelor's degree, or a healthcare license, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in various situations.
  • Knowledge of organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices in client care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Knowledge of the stages of change model and relapse potentials.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
