About the position

As a Behavioral Health Tech at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, you will provide direct patient care and support to individuals in the Adult Unit. This role focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring their safety, and participating in therapeutic interventions. The position emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care and therapeutic interventions based on patient care assignments from RN.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities, reporting any changes in condition and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients.
• Applies knowledge of group dynamics in participating in therapeutic groups and maintaining the milieu.
• Monitors patients to ensure safety, including but not limited to rounding, environmental and safety checks.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in the behavioral health or a related field, or equivalent years of experience and education.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• No experience required.
