About the position

The Behavioral Health Technician position at the Harold Jordan Center involves providing support and care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role focuses on ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of residents while delivering personalized care and habilitation training. The position requires working three 12.5-hour shifts per week, including weekends, nights, and holidays, under the supervision of qualified staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide vocational and habilitation training for intellectually and developmentally disabled clients.
• Follow individual support plans to meet the needs of persons served.
• Communicate with families, conservators, and employers to share information and meet treatment requirements.
• Analyze medical treatment and training data to detect changes in needs, behavior, and abilities.
• Ensure a safe and appropriate environment for persons served by analyzing environmental data.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
• Train other staff on active treatment interventions.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent education.
• One year of full-time work experience providing services for disabled persons.
• Valid vehicle operator's license required for employment.
• Additional college or technical coursework in relevant fields may substitute for experience.
