About the position

The Behavioral Health Technician at St. Cloud Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting adolescent mental health by assisting patients in overcoming challenges and regaining their emotional well-being. This position involves working closely with a dedicated team to provide care and support in a structured environment, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during their treatment process.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities and provide emotional support.
  • Monitor patient behavior and report any changes to the healthcare team.
  • Implement treatment plans as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize physical safety holds when necessary to manage aggressive behavior.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care discussions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: 2 years of college with courses in psychology, sociology, or social work.
  • Preferred: Six months of experience in a nursing assistant or similar role.
  • Ability to effectively handle escalating behavior and utilize physical safety holds.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training provided.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with adolescents in a mental health setting.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues and treatment options.
