About the position

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) position at Advanced Recovery Systems involves monitoring and supporting patients in a behavioral health treatment setting. The role is crucial in ensuring patient safety, adherence to facility rules, and effective communication with the clinical team. BHTs contribute to a therapeutic environment that promotes recovery from addiction and co-occurring disorders.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor patients in treatment, reporting any significant changes to the clinical team.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients.
• Communicate and enforce facility program rules in a professional manner.
• Address problem behaviors using verbal de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient interactions and behaviors.
• Maintain healthy and professional boundaries with patients and staff.
• Keep clinical records secure at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's degree and minimum one (1) year experience in BHT or similar patient care role preferred.
• In lieu of Associate's degree, minimum two (2) years experience in BHT or similar patient care role required.
• Successful completion of the ARS training through the BHT I is acceptable.
• Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards.
• CPR and Standard First Aid certification required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with Children and Adolescent Facilities.
• Medication Technician/QMAP Certification.
• Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
