About the position

The Behavioral Health Technician at Advanced Recovery Systems plays a crucial role in the treatment of individuals facing addiction, substance abuse, and mental health issues. This position involves monitoring and observing patients, ensuring their safety, and assisting them in various activities while maintaining professional boundaries. The technician works closely with the facility leadership team to uphold program rules and contribute to the overall welfare of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Observe and monitor patients in treatment, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the clinical team.
• Communicate and enforce facility program rules in a firm but fair manner.
• Address problem behaviors using verbal de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Maintain healthy and professional boundaries with patients and staff.
• Ensure timely, clear, and accurate documentation of patient interactions and clinical records.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
• Drive patients to medical appointments outside the facility when necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Associate's degree and minimum one (1) year experience in a Behavioral Health Technician or similar patient care role preferred.
• In lieu of an Associate degree, a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Behavioral Health Technician or similar patient care role is required.
• Good driving record that meets safety and company insurance standards.
• CPR and Standard First Aid certification required.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Experience working with children and adolescents is a plus.
• Medication Technician/QMAP Certification preferred.
