About the position

As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at New Breath Recovery, you will provide direct support to individuals in a residential treatment setting, assisting them on their recovery journey. This role involves monitoring client safety, facilitating group sessions, documenting client progress, and implementing treatment plans under the supervision of licensed clinical staff. You will play a crucial role in crisis intervention and creating a safe, therapeutic environment for clients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure client safety and conduct regular checks.
• Assist clients with daily living activities.
• Document client behaviors, progress, and participation in electronic records.
• Facilitate groups focused on coping skills and recovery topics.
• Respond promptly to crises using de-escalation techniques.
• Safely transport clients to appointments and activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (some psychology or social work coursework preferred).
• 1+ year experience with mental health or substance use clients preferred.
• Valid CPR Certification preferred.
• Strong observational and communication skills.
• EHR proficiency is a bonus.

Nice-to-haves

• RADT or SUDRC certification preferred.
