About the position

The Behavior Technician will provide patient-centered care to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based behavioral interventions and support services to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide behavioral interventions and support services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the patient's treatment team to develop and implement individualized behavioral plans.
  • Implement and maintain behavioral strategies, including positive reinforcement, desensitization, and crisis intervention.
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data to inform treatment decisions and monitor patient progress.
  • Document patient behavior, progress, and treatment plans in accordance with medical documentation standards.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, providing patient care in a variety of settings, including home, school, and clinic.
  • Provide patient education and support to families and caregivers.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in autism and behavioral interventions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity with autism and behavioral interventions.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients with varying levels of need, including those with co-occurring conditions such as PTSD.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to medical documentation standards.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and work in a variety of settings, including standing, sitting, and kneeling.
  • Ability to inhale and work in environments with strong scents or odors.
