About the position

As a Behavioral Health Therapist in our Outpatient Group Practice, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of various mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive, and developmental disorders. Utilizing your specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills, you will perform thorough diagnostic assessments to understand each patient's unique needs and psychosocial status. Your expertise will guide the development of individualized treatment plans and goals, ensuring that each patient receives tailored psychotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy as needed. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to establish effective treatment goals. Participation in multidisciplinary patient care conferences will allow you to share insights from patient assessments and updates on treatment plans. Accurate documentation is essential, and you will be responsible for maintaining detailed records of all pertinent information obtained during patient interactions, consultations with healthcare professionals, and any referrals or supportive services provided. In addition to direct patient care, you will also provide clinical supervision to interns and assigned staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of care within the practice. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for some remote work options, while also requiring some afternoon and evening hours to accommodate patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities using specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments of patient's needs and psychosocial status.
  • Develop a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan and goals for the patient and provide psychotherapy, group and family therapy if applicable.
  • Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team, as appropriate, to develop treatment goals for the patient.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary patient care conferences discussing information obtained from patient assessments, updates, treatment plans.
  • Provide appropriate documentation of all pertinent information obtained in interviews, consultation with other healthcare professionals, referrals, contacts and supportive services provided to each patient.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reporting in accordance with departmental standards and Federal and State regulations.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision to interns and assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: One or more of the following required: Clinical Counselor credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Counselor credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Psychologist credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Social Worker credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Master's degree required.

Nice-to-haves

  • LCPC or LCSW (or licensed clinical psychologist: PsyD, PhD) required.
  • Experience as a therapist working in an outpatient group practice.
  • Ability to provide psychotherapy to clients.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid arrangement with some remote work options.
