About the position
The Behavioral Health Therapist (BHT) at the Outpatient Care Center provides intensive behavioral health services, including diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and crisis intervention. This role focuses on collaborating with patients and their families to develop individualized treatment plans that address specific behavioral health concerns. The BHT also assists families in managing symptoms and behaviors related to diagnoses, while delivering clinical services to patients and their support systems. The position requires independent work, organization, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies, emphasizing the importance of psychosocial factors in treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Deliver individual, group, and family-based psychotherapy.
- Conduct crisis intervention as needed.
- Assist patients and families in managing symptoms and behaviors related to behavioral health diagnoses.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies to enhance patient care.
- Educate and consult with healthcare professionals and the community on psychosocial factors affecting health.
- Model and demonstrate the values of Dayton Children's in interactions with patients and families.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work is required.
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification is required.
- Ohio Licensed Social Worker (LSW) certification is required.
