About the position

As a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for sex offender interventions for a caseload of assigned incarcerated individuals. Your role will involve completing initial program screenings and risk assessments, conducting individual and group clinical interventions using clinical intervention strategies within your scope of practice and directed by supervision, and providing psychosocial group interventions. You will also be responsible for completing initial and discharge summaries, consulting with other institution staff regarding the sex offender caseload, and complying with monthly report statistics. Additionally, you will initiate and maintain contact with the Adult Parole Authority, Halfway Houses, and other community agencies regarding an incarcerated individual's progress in or completion of group. You will make appropriate referrals as necessary and write reports and documentation, including electronic documentation of all individual and group contacts, initial and discharge summaries, and miscellaneous forms and reports as needed, per policy and protocol. Attendance at meetings of social work or counselor supervision, in-service training sessions, and workshops for professional development is also required. When appropriate, you may be assigned to teach in-service. It is essential to conduct yourself professionally and in a law-abiding manner at all times, in accordance with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Standards of Employee Conduct. You may also be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sex offender interventions for a caseload of assigned incarcerated individuals.
  • Completes initial program screenings and risk assessments.
  • Conducts individual and group clinical interventions using clinical intervention strategies within their scope of practice and directed by supervision.
  • Provides psychosocial group interventions.
  • Completes initial and discharge summaries.
  • Consults with other institution staff regarding the sex offender caseload and incarcerated individuals' institutional adjustment and service needs; complies monthly report statistics.
  • Initiates and maintains contact with the Adult Parole Authority, Halfway Houses, and other community agencies regarding an incarcerated individual's progress in/completion of group.
  • Makes appropriate referrals as necessary.
  • Writes reports and/or documentation to include electronic documentation of all individual and group contacts, initial and discharge summaries and miscellaneous forms and reports as needed, per policy and protocol.
  • Attends meetings of social work or counselor supervision.
  • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
  • May be assigned to teach in-service when appropriate.
  • Conducts themselves professionally and in a law-abiding manner at all times.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
  • Or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.

Benefits

  • Starting pay is approximately $54,000 based on location.
