About the position
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist at AABR Inc. is responsible for providing clinical direction and support to staff and management teams in the context of behavioral health services. This role involves working directly with individuals with disabilities to manage maladaptive behaviors, conducting assessments, and developing behavior support plans. The position emphasizes a commitment to empowering individuals to achieve independence and community involvement through effective behavioral interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical direction, supervision, guidance, assistance, and training to staff and management teams.
- Work directly with individuals and staff regarding maladaptive behaviors and crisis management.
- Provide individual and group supportive counseling.
- Conduct solution-oriented family consultations regarding maladaptive behaviors.
- Provide staff and management with therapeutic strategies to optimize individuals' functioning.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Support Plans (BSP) as needed.
- Participate in monthly Human Rights Review (HRC) meetings.
- Provide in-service training on behavior management and emotional functioning.
- Write protocols for assistive equipment usage.
- Perform initial, semi-annual, and annual assessments and reports.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Psychology or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
