About the position

The Therapeutic Foster Care Worker plays a vital role in providing therapy and support to foster families and children in Oklahoma. This position involves coordinating services, collaborating with community partners, creating treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to ensure the well-being of foster children and their families. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate services by collaborating with foster families, biological families, and professionals to ensure comprehensive service delivery to foster children.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal team members, community agencies, and service providers.
  • Perform thorough assessments of foster children and families to identify needs, strengths, and growth areas.
  • Create individualized treatment plans based on assessments, incorporating evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver therapy and support to foster children and families using various therapeutic modalities.
  • Regularly evaluate foster children's progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Ensure foster children's voices are heard and rights are protected.
  • Stay current on best practices, research, and developments in therapeutic foster care.

Requirements

  • Valid therapist license in Oklahoma or actively working towards licensure under supervision (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Previous experience in foster care, especially in a therapeutic capacity, is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic interventions and practices for children and families.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with partners, foster children, and families.
  • Ability to empathize with and support foster children and their families, understanding their unique challenges.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills for coordinating services and managing caseloads.
  • Willingness to adapt and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
