About the position
The Belt Specialist position at Avery Dennison involves working within the Tooling Group to manufacture belts according to standard operating procedures. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety practices while performing various tasks related to the production and quality assurance of belts.
Responsibilities
- Prepare mother assembly per standard operating procedures.
- Insert and remove mother from tanks.
- Grind, wash and spindle belts per work instructions.
- Perform visual inspections to detect quality issues.
- Prepare, clean and store belts per standard operating procedures.
- Pack belts for shipment.
- Set up lab equipment using a variety of settings.
- Analyze test results and enter them into the computer.
- Perform simple statistical analysis through data collection and input.
- Verify the feasibility of the process defined by the Travel Sheet.
- Maintain a safe, clean, efficient and productive workplace.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
- General knowledge of and ability to work with computers and programs (Excel, Word, MFG PRO).
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Intermediate level of mathematical, reading/writing skills.
- Strong service and quality focus with problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated record of flexibility and dependability.
Nice-to-haves
- 2-3 years experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Prior mechanical and electrical skills preferred.
- Prior shipping experience a plus.
