About the position

The Belt Technician II at Midwest Industrial Rubber Inc. is responsible for fabricating conveyor belts according to shop order requirements and established processes. This role involves using advanced fabrication techniques and ensuring quality standards are met while supporting internal and external customers. The position is based in Jefferson, PA, and emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate finished conveyor belts in accordance with shop order requirements.
  • Become proficient in all processes and concepts outlined for Belt Tech competencies.
  • Observe and follow safety rules as outlined in the Safety Policy.
  • Complete shop orders by the Production Priority Code system.
  • Ensure work is completed without fabrication errors and meets quality standards.
  • Perform regular housekeeping of the assigned work station.
  • Identify and clarify unusual fabrication instructions with the Team Lead.
  • Assist in other areas as needed to support company and plant goals.
  • Assist with the HF machine as required.
  • Complete general belt fabrication tasks including Cut To Length, Lacing, Finger Splicing, and Slitting.
  • Perform three advanced fabrication techniques more than 50% of the time.

Requirements

  • Trained and proficient with a minimum of three advanced fabrication techniques (e.g., perforations, V-guides, HF welding).
  • High school diploma, GED, Technical/Trade School, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license required if operating a company vehicle.
  • Prior manufacturing work experience in operating machinery and using various hand tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English.
  • Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales).
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical functions using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and the metric system.
  • Must be able to work in the US.
