About the position

Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Beneficiary Service Coordinator to join our team in North Wilkesboro, NC. You can be a part of a highly professional North American Ministries team. In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of beneficiary selection, including needs assessment and requests for assistance from individuals. You will work closely with the Beneficiary Service Manager of North American Ministries (NAM), homeowners, church partners, governmental and other non-governmental agencies. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of beneficiary selection, including needs assessment and requests for assistance from individuals.
  • Investigate requests to identify best-matched candidates based on need, eligibility and other program criteria.
  • Interview applicants and gather pertinent background information including financial history.
  • Facilitate background checks and drug screening, if required.
  • Maintain proper documentation and tracking to ensure successful completion of each project.
  • Keep detailed files of each homeowner's paperwork and track homeowners' work hours and work hour requirements.
  • Take inbound/make outbound phone calls to serve homeowners affected by disaster, needing assistance with rebuilding their homes.
  • Assist with overflow calls from volunteers as needed.
  • Recommend potential recipients for consideration to Beneficiary Services Manager.
  • Work with homeowner and Rebuild Office Manager to procure and use FEMA/insurance money for the construction of their home.
  • Enforce requirements to use that money for its intended purpose.
  • Communicate and minister to homeowners, keeping them informed of the team's progress and assisting in their requests.
  • Direct homeowners who do not meet our beneficiary criteria to other agencies or organizations that can help.
  • Follow up with recipients through project completion and minister to them throughout the project.
  • Ensure beneficiaries' information is kept strictly confidential.
  • Attend local long-term recovery meetings to identify potential needs and applicants who may meet program criteria.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to be an effective witness for Him.
  • Experience in coordinating services or programs, preferably in a non-profit or community service setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with homeowners, volunteers, and agencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and tracking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with disaster recovery or humanitarian assistance programs.
  • Familiarity with FEMA processes and insurance claims related to home rebuilding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including church partners and governmental agencies.
