Northmarq is seeking a Benefit & Payroll Specialist to join its Human Resources department at the Minneapolis (Bloomington, MN) headquarters office. This role is pivotal in supporting the HR team and enhancing the overall employee experience through various HR initiatives. As a Benefit & Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for administering the onboarding process, ensuring that new hire and training tasks are completed promptly. You will maintain employment records related to hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations, collaborating closely with other HR team members. Additionally, you will lead and facilitate new hire orientation sessions, ensuring that new employees are well-integrated into the company culture. In this position, you will administer benefit programs and coordinate annual enrollment, maintaining accurate records for all employee leave or accommodation requests as needed. You will also reconcile and submit monthly benefit invoices, troubleshooting any issues directly with vendors. Assisting in the administration of biweekly payroll will be a key responsibility, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. You will update policies and assist with management updates and rollouts on the intranet as necessary, while also managing employee compliance administration and escalating issues or concerns as appropriate. Moreover, you will support general HR operations, including the implementation of an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or other HR system changes and enhancements. Your role will also involve assisting with various HR projects aimed at enhancing the overall employee experience, as well as supporting culture-related initiatives such as employee events, giving campaigns, and community involvement initiatives.
