About the position

The position involves managing retention and cross-selling activities for Large Group cases, overseeing the process from renewal quotes to new carrier placements and enrollments. The role requires developing strong relationships with brokers and understanding customer needs to create effective retention strategies. The position may allow for remote work, but candidates must reside in Maryland for in-person meetings with brokers.

Responsibilities

  • Establish an in-depth understanding of products and processes and how agents/brokers interact with them.
  • Review renewals and collaborate with BSEs to develop and execute retention and quoting strategies for each case.
  • Act as the primary account management contact for brokers throughout the lifecycle of a large group case, ensuring timely resolution of service issues with carrier account management teams.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets for large group renewal proposals and provide broker client-ready proposals.
  • Work closely with Sales Executives to service agents/brokers and promote cross-sell opportunities and case retention through regular follow-up calls.
  • Provide information on carrier administrative procedures and product availability, guiding brokers in selecting appropriate group products for renewals.
  • Review initial renewals and collaborate with BSEs to develop retention strategies and necessary go-to-market activities.
  • Assist agents/brokers in presenting products to clients by attending renewal meetings and preparing enrollment documents/benefit booklets for plan changes or new product lines.
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards of information and manage occasional long, irregular hours during peak times.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in selling, account management, or servicing large group benefits.
  • Knowledge of large group carrier plan features and benefits for medical and non-medical/ancillary plans.
  • Experience with financial and underwriting principles involved with large group plans.
  • Strong knowledge of self-funded, level funded, or alternate funded plans.
  • Active Life & Health License must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Exchange; proficient in web browsers, specifically Google Chrome.
