This position is a first-level professional role that serves as an expert in various benefit areas, such as Public Assistance Programs and veteran's loan eligibility. The primary purpose of the role is to evaluate the effectiveness of benefit and eligibility programs by auditing processes and reporting findings to stakeholders. Employees may lead within a benefit area, assigning and reviewing the work of others, and may assist in establishing public assistance programs in response to legislative mandates. Additionally, they may recommend policy revisions and oversee high-value claims and benefits, considering a range of factors to develop complex cases.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of benefit and eligibility programs by auditing processes.
  • Report findings to stakeholders regarding program effectiveness.
  • Lead work within a benefit area, assigning and reviewing tasks of others.
  • Assist in establishing public assistance programs in response to legislative mandates.
  • Recommend policy or policy revisions to governing bodies.
  • Oversee and determine high-value claims and benefits.
  • Advocate in an appeals process as necessary.
  • Perform case management work when required.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience OR an associate degree and 2-3 years of experience.
