About the position

The Benefits Analyst for Leaves at Boston University is responsible for overseeing the University's Paid Family and Medical Leave Benefit Plan. This role involves managing the administration of leave benefits, ensuring compliance with state laws, and providing support to the Human Resources Service Center regarding employee inquiries related to leaves. The position also includes opportunities for process improvement in current leave administration practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of PFML Leaves through the University's Leave Administrator.
  • Review and audit leave payments and durations, ensuring timely processing of leave start and end dates.
  • Provide support to the Human Resources Service Center on employee and departmental inquiries regarding leaves.
  • Provide monthly reporting on types of leaves and payment of leaves by employee group and organizational units.
  • Ensure compliance of the University's PFML program with State Law and regulatory requirements.
  • Review current leave processes and identify potential process flow improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
  • Experience administering leave benefits and knowledge of the Massachusetts Paid Family and Medical Leave Act and Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to organize and analyze large data sets.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
