About the position

Responsibilities

  • Contact insurance companies to verify benefits and obtain pre-certifications prior to appointments.
  • Answer patient questions regarding insurance contracts and coverage.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and diagnostic procedures.
  • Attend meetings as required to stay informed about office policies and procedures.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Six months of secretarial experience.
  • Typing ability of 40 words per minute.
  • Experience with word processing and computer operations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and the insurance industry.
