About the position

As a Benefits Coordinator, you will serve as the first point of contact for employees and vendors, tasked with researching and resolving employee issues related to benefits. Your role will involve providing guidance and counsel to employees, HRIS representatives, and managers regarding the requirements and provisions of various benefit programs. You will assist in resolving potential employee issues and ensure that all benefits functions are executed accurately, including eligibility, enrollment, reporting, terminations, and daily life event processing. Additionally, you will be responsible for reconciling and completing benefits invoices for all lines of coverage, conducting new hire benefits orientations weekly, and reviewing and auditing Oracle HCM reports, including payroll and HSA account contribution funding. Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include overseeing the administration of COBRA and collaborating with the Leave Administrator to manage all employee FMLA, workers' compensation, and other comparable leaves or absences, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies. You will provide operational support to HR Business Partners and assist with the annual open enrollment process, monitoring plan eligibility and other restrictions to ensure compliance with plan provisions and government requirements. Furthermore, you will be responsible for other special projects and work-related duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of all benefits functions, including eligibility, enrollment, reporting, terminations, 401k, and daily life event processing/clean up.
  • Oversee the administration of COBRA and work with vendors to resolve potential issues.
  • Collaborate with the Leave Administrator to manage employee FMLA, workers' compensation, and other comparable leaves or absences.
  • Provide operational support to HR Business Partners.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process.
  • Monitor plan eligibility and compliance with plan provisions and government requirements.
  • Responsible for special projects and work-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 2 years' experience in benefits administration.
  • General knowledge of federal and state laws relating to benefit plans including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and FMLA.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite, including high proficiency in Excel.
  • Expertise with online benefits enrollment administration required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Oracle based products or other HRIS/online benefit enrollment system.
