About the position

The Benefits Coordinator at Littleton Elementary School District is responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee benefits, including FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and ADA requests. This role supports the Director of Talent Recruitment and Retention in supervising Human Resources staff and managing both district-provided and voluntary benefits, including self-funded healthcare plans. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to analyze and manage benefits-related data effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of employee benefits, FMLA, Worker's Compensation, and ADA requests.
  • Support the Director in supervising Human Resources staff.
  • Manage self-funded healthcare including high deductible and traditional insurance plans.
  • Verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies.
  • Administer employee benefits and programs in compliance with carrier contracts.
  • Analyze work-related information to identify issues and recommend action plans.
  • Assist stakeholders in verifying eligibility and processing claims.
  • Distribute information regarding benefits offerings and processes to employees.
  • Reconcile enrollment forms and billings to employee records for accuracy.
  • Manage all aspects of FMLA, ADA, and Worker's Compensation cases.
  • Assist with unemployment cases and perform research on special HR projects.
  • Compile, extract, and analyze statistical data on District operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a school environment.
  • Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and Federal regulations regarding benefits practices.
  • Knowledge of record keeping and records management principles.
  • Proficiency in business and personal computers, and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Skill in analyzing and maintaining financial records and accounts.
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a school environment is preferred.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $45.4K - $57.4K per year.
  • Twelve months of employment per year with established salary and work year by the Board.
  • Telecommute eligibility established by the Governing Board.
