About the position

We are a Colorado-based litigation law firm seeking a Benefits Coordinator that will perform administrative tasks and services related to benefits administration for numerous office locations. This role is responsible for administering employee benefits plans, including health/welfare plans, assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifying and processing benefits insurance billing, maintaining employee database and files, and ensuring compliance with required benefit notices. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Benefits Coordinator will administer health/welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. They will process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions. The role also involves reconciling benefits statements and processing Family Medical Leave, disability, and Paid Family Leave claims. The coordinator will answer frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc., and refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level management. Additionally, the coordinator will assist with the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of these files. The position requires scheduling meetings and interviews with potential employee candidates upon request, assisting with the processing of terminations and related documentation, and performing periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. The Benefits Coordinator will provide ongoing support for the HR and Finance teams and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Administers health/welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.

  • Provides ongoing support for the HR and Finance teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., ADA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret summary plan descriptions, plan documents and procedure/policy manuals.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must be a team player with a friendly, positive, 'client first' attitude.
  • Associate's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in employee benefits administration.
