About the position

As a valuable member of our team as a Benefits Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing benefit programs and providing customer service to employees regarding benefit enrollment and inquiries. This role is crucial in ensuring that employees are well-informed about their benefits and that all processes related to benefits administration are executed smoothly and efficiently. Your essential functions will include maintaining a working knowledge of benefits plans and eligibility requirements, coordinating and executing open enrollment, and working with third-party vendors to resolve any employee or billing issues. You will assist new hires through onboarding, conducting orientation that includes an explanation of benefits and assisting with benefit enrollment procedures. Additionally, you will maintain a working knowledge of benefit regulations such as COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, EEO, and ACA, which are vital for compliance and effective benefits management. You will also be responsible for updating employee changes, including new enrollments, changes, and terminations in third-party software, ensuring that all information is accurate. Reconciling third-party providers' billings and ensuring accuracy will be part of your duties, as well as working with auditors and third-party vendors on the audit of the 401(k) plan and 5500 filings. Ensuring payroll deductions for benefits are accurate and preparing benefit cost reports for management will also be key responsibilities in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Business degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in benefit administration preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word and various provider software
  • Ability to take direction and work with others as a team
  • Ability to listen, be understanding, confidential, and have a problem-solving approach when dealing with personnel issues
  • Keen eye for detail
