About the position

The Benefits Coordinator at Stark & Stark will support the firm's employee benefit programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves administering various benefits, leading open enrollment processes, and providing guidance to employees on benefit-related matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the overall wellness initiatives of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, FSA, HSA, and wellness programs.
  • Participate in benefit renewals and lead the open enrollment process, ensuring effective communication with employees through presentations and educational sessions.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees on benefit matters, resolving complex issues and escalations.
  • Responsible for leave of absence administration, tracking, and advice, along with employee accommodation requests.
  • Promote wellness and fitness initiatives in the organization; answer questions and collect feedback from participants.
  • Coordinate classes, speakers, seminars, training, and voluntary fitness assessments to promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including DOL, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and COBRA.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience in human resources.
  • 1-2 years of experience in benefits administration and/or human resources.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid customer service approach with flexibility to adapt to meet employee needs.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and time-management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Knowledge of wellness program implementation and management.
