About the position

The Benefits Coordinator at Grand Sierra Resort Casino is responsible for managing and facilitating the benefits administration process for team members. This role serves as the primary contact for FMLA and ADA processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and providing support to employees regarding their benefits. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and be the primary contact for all team members and department leadership regarding FMLA and ADA processes.
  • Prepare FMLA/ADA packets within 5 days of team member requests once eligibility is verified.
  • Review physician forms for completion and provide them to the Benefits Manager for approval.
  • Provide Short Term and Long Term disability forms as needed and submit claims online to the insurance provider.
  • Provide monthly reports to corporate on current team member leaves.
  • Retrieve and deliver insurance premium payments from team members to appropriate management.
  • Prepare and send out monthly eligibility information to team members via various communication channels.
  • Audit benefit enrollments for completion and verify receipt of dependent documents.
  • Attend weekly new hire orientation to present basic benefit options to new employees.
  • Mail out forms and documents to current and prior team members as needed.
  • Scan documents for entry into Datamagine Assist and assist team members with benefit and leave questions.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws concerning medical insurance, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
