About the position

The Benefits HRIS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining systems, software, and reports related to employee benefits at Rockford Public School District 205. This role serves as a technical point-of-contact for the benefits team, ensuring data integrity and accuracy while coordinating various benefits processes and acting as a liaison between different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Board policies and strategic plan objectives.
  • Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities.
  • Performs related duties to ensure an efficient work environment.
  • Acts as the principal point of contact for benefits implementation processes.
  • Coordinates and maintains various Benefits EDI files processes.
  • Addresses data requests and questions related to software and reports.
  • Analyzes and interprets employer benefits plan requirements.
  • Builds and configures customized benefit plans as needed.
  • Confirms accuracy and integrity of data entered in benefits systems.
  • Conducts data analysis on HR data in the HRIS system.
  • Provides project management for benefit projects or initiatives.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in Benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or business preferred; Associate degree or technical school required.
  • 2-5 years of related experience in HRIS or benefits administration.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a K-12 setting with PowerSchool systems preferred.
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • Understanding of EDI/Carrier connections, Cobra, FSA, and ACA reporting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SaaS HCM systems.
  • Knowledge of current trends in employee benefits.
