About the position

The Benefits Manager at Henkels & McCoy will lead the benefits strategy for the organization, ensuring that the offerings are competitive and aligned with the company's mission to support the well-being of its diverse workforce. This role involves managing comprehensive benefits programs, including retirement plans, health and life insurance, wellness initiatives, and leave of absence policies, while ensuring compliance with regulations and enhancing employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of benefits programs, including retirement plans, health and life insurance, wellness initiatives, and leave of absence policies.
  • Develop and manage policies related to various leave programs (e.g., FMLA, ADA, and other state-specific leave laws).
  • Ensure all benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA).
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with benefit providers and third-party administrators.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options and any changes.
  • Analyze benefits usage, employee feedback, and market trends to assess program effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
  • Work closely with HR, finance, and operating companies to ensure seamless benefits administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits management, preferably in a multi-state or public employer setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and FMLA, with proven experience in compliance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess benefits programs and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and HRIS systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR) is highly desirable.
