Berkshire Art Center (BAC), formerly known as IS183 Art School, is seeking a passionate and visionary Executive Director to lead the organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight while fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and innovation within the organization. This individual will serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for Berkshire Art Center, representing its mission and values to stakeholders, partners, and the broader community. The Executive Director will supervise a team of three full-time and three part-time employees, ensuring that the organization continues to thrive and serve the community effectively. The Executive Director will play a crucial role in the development and stewardship of the organization, which includes developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure financial support from various sources, cultivating relationships with major donors, overseeing grant writing and reporting processes, and organizing fundraising events and campaigns. Additionally, the Executive Director will be responsible for strategic and programmatic oversight, including the development and execution of the organization's strategic plan, identifying new opportunities for growth, and collaborating with the Board of Directors to set organizational goals and priorities. In terms of finance, operations, and human resources, the Executive Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, manage the budget, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and oversee all human resources functions. Strong leadership and management skills are essential, as the Executive Director will inspire and motivate staff, facilitate open communication, and foster a positive organizational culture that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector or cultural arts organization, a demonstrated track record of successful strategic planning and financial management, and a passion for the arts. This is a full-time position based in Stockbridge, MA, with a secondary location in Pittsfield, MA, and the salary for this position is $85,000 annually.
