About the position

As a member of the Johnson Controls team, you will be part of the Early Career Sales Engineering (BEST) Program, a 6-month technical sales development initiative designed for recent college graduates. This program focuses on strategic selling of Johnson Controls' Fire products and services to commercial customers. You will leverage your technical engineering knowledge and business acumen to understand customer needs and provide expert guidance on product and project requirements. The program includes a combination of classroom training, field orientation, and on-the-job training, ensuring you are well-prepared to support customers in your territory alongside the sales team. Throughout the program, you will engage with architects, engineers, and building owners, helping them make informed product selections. You will also be involved in estimating job bids, preparing proposals, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors. Your role will include making sales calls to generate new business, presenting solutions to customers, and collecting and analyzing market intelligence. You will play a critical role in turning projects over to the operations team for execution and installations, contributing to the overall success of the sales team and the company. This position offers a competitive salary starting at $56,000, with additional guaranteed commission and a sign-on bonus, bringing total compensation to approximately $83,000. Responsibilities

  • Estimate job bids and prepare proposals with contractors, architects, and building owners

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree and graduating in December 2024 or May/June 2025
  • Strong analytical ability to solve problems and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with minimum guidance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Nice-to-haves

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree, strongly preferred
  • Previous sales, engineering or business experiences through co-ops, internships, part-time or full-time jobs
