About the position
The Best Buddies Advisor position at Marple Newtown High School is a part-time role dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment for students through the Best Buddies club. The advisor will work closely with student leaders to plan events, promote socialization, and build lasting friendships among students of all ability levels. This role involves coordination with school administration, parents, and program staff to ensure successful club activities and events.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between the school administration and the Best Buddies club.
- Provide guidance to student leaders and club members.
- Plan and organize events that promote inclusion.
- Communicate with parents regarding participation consent.
- Promote the club and its events within the school and community.
- Attend club events and provide supervision during meetings and social activities.
- Schedule and arrange transportation for events.
- Chaperone students at dances and other social events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Requirements
- Experience working with high school students.
- Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work with students of all ability levels.
- Valid PA teaching certificate.
