About the position
Join our dynamic team at LSG Sky Chefs, the largest airline catering company in the world, as a Beverage Assembly warehouse worker. This full-time position is based in our modern Des Plaines Customer Service Center, conveniently located near Chicago O'Hare airport and easily accessible by public transportation. As a Beverage Assembler, you will play a crucial role in assembling airline carts for both domestic and international flights. Your responsibilities will include providing food and beverage serving equipment, dry goods, snacks, condiments, and beverages, all while adhering to printed diagrams and customer specifications. You will also be responsible for sorting, wrapping, and packing airline dry goods, liquor, and equipment into airline carts according to specific guidelines. Maintaining compliance with sanitation standards set by HACCP, FDA, USDA, and customer requirements is essential in this role. Additionally, you will manage liquor inventory and documentation, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all operations. This position requires flexibility, as you will need to be available to work overnights, weekends, and holidays as per the assigned schedule. Overtime may also be required, and candidates must pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms are mandatory. The work environment is fast-paced and time-sensitive, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to frequent changes in requirements. You will be expected to follow customer specifications and printed diagrams closely, and basic math skills are necessary for handling equipment and inventory. The role involves physical demands, including walking, heavy lifting, and pushing items weighing over 70 lbs. You will regularly stand, bend, lift, and move throughout your 8+ hour shifts, and be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.
Responsibilities
- Assemble airline carts for domestic and international flights by providing food and beverage serving equipment, dry goods, snacks, condiments, and beverages according to customer specifications.
- Sort, wrap, and pack airline dry goods, liquor, and equipment into airline carts following printed diagrams and procedures.
- Maintain production areas in compliance with sanitation standards set by HACCP, FDA, USDA, and customer requirements.
- Manage liquor inventory and documentation accurately.
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Must be able, available, and flexible to work overnights, weekends, and holidays according to the assigned schedule.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime when required.
- Must pass a criminal background and drug screening requirements.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniform as required.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English.
