About the position

The Beverage Service Supervisor is responsible for training, motivating, and supervising Beverage Service staff, including bartenders, beverage servers, bar backs, and beverage stewards on assigned shifts. This role requires effective interaction with the public and team members, ensuring excellent guest service at all times. The supervisor enforces performance standards, policies, and procedures related to venue operations, monitors beverage staff throughout all areas of beverage service, and ensures smooth and efficient operations. Compliance with health and safety standards, as well as applicable beverage laws, is essential. The supervisor also assists with scheduling, monitors job performance, and provides feedback to team members to enhance their skills. This position may require working in various roles within the department as needed and maintaining accurate inventories of all spirits and wine.

Responsibilities

  • Train, motivate, and supervise Beverage Service staff.
  • Interact effectively with the public and team members.
  • Ensure excellent guest service at all times.
  • Enforce performance standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor beverage staff throughout all areas of beverage service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and applicable laws.
  • Assist with scheduling of team members.
  • Monitor job performance and provide feedback.
  • Work in various positions within the department as needed.
  • Maintain accurate perpetual inventories of all spirits and wine.
  • Ensure the security of all alcoholic beverages.
  • Complete Alcohol Awareness Training and maintain certification.
  • Promote positive guest relations through efficient service.
  • Handle guest complaints effectively.
  • Adhere to established cash control policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a consistent attendance record.
  • Perform any reasonable request made by management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to two years of restaurant or bar management experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
