About the position

The BI Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data from various sources within the corrections system. This role is crucial for providing insights and supporting decision-making processes through effective data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems for collecting, storing, and analyzing data from various sources within the corrections system.
  • Create and implement BI solutions using Power BI.
  • Perform data integration, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Work with large-scale datasets in cloud environments and ensure data warehousing best practices are followed.
  • Develop dashboards for executive use and conduct predictive analytics.
  • Document processes, create data dictionaries, and maintain BI architecture documentation.
  • Test and troubleshoot data processes using appropriate methodologies and techniques.
  • Interact professionally with stakeholders, demonstrating sensitivity and tact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience developing BI solutions using Power BI.
  • Strong expertise in data integration, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Hands-on experience with predictive analytics and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in documenting processes and maintaining BI architecture documentation.
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Informix and PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of data warehouse technologies (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with correctional or public safety systems.
  • Good understanding of GitHub database version control.
