About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team in Towson, Maryland. In this role, you will be a key contributor responsible for assisting with the creation of automated data extractions, transformations, and loads (ETL) between various software systems managed by the Equipment division. Currently, these processes are being managed manually, and your expertise will help streamline and automate these workflows. You will also assist with ETL from Equipment division software systems to our Data Warehouse, which utilizes the Microsoft Fabric Platform. Additionally, you will create dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI to provide enhanced business insights and support decision-making for the Equipment division leaders. This position is a contract role with the expectation to convert to a permanent position or extend after six months. The work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, and you will be required to be onsite three days a week at our Baltimore office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analytical reporting, and dashboarding, with a focus on using Microsoft Power Platforms. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating automated data extractions, transformations, and loads (ETL) between various software systems managed by the Equipment division.
  • Assist with ETL from Equipment division software systems and our Data Warehouse (Microsoft Fabric Platform).
  • Create dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI for enhanced business insights and decision-making for the Equipment division leaders.
  • Assist with the development of predictive analytics resources based on data in our Data Warehouse.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in analytical reporting and dashboarding.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management and pipelining (ETL).
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis.
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL database programming.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platforms (PowerBI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Enterprise Data Governance experience (Microsoft Purview preferred).
  • Experience with data concepts, large data architectures, and systems engineering towards data-centric solutions.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure) to leverage cloud services for scalable and flexible data solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the construction industry (preferred).
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (preferred).
  • Experience working in Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with Oracle.
