About the position

The BI Developer I or II position at USAble Life is a remote role focused on supporting business needs through the design, implementation, and maintenance of data solutions. The role involves analyzing business requirements to develop dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence solutions, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliverables while adhering to development standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develops BI reports, dashboards and ETL processes based on specified requirements
  • Understands basic business requirements and translates them into technical specifications
  • Performs basic data analysis to support requirements gathering and documentation and to ensure quality of data
  • Conducts unit testing of solutions developed and assists in validating outputs
  • Conducts troubleshooting and support of existing solutions
  • Creates and maintains documentation related to solutions being developed
  • Translates business requirements into technical design documentation
  • Conducts training, change management and release planning for solutions being deployed
  • Optimizes existing solutions and identifies key areas where efficiency can be gained through automation
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent skills writing SQL queries in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other industry leading RDBMS
  • Ability to create reports and dashboards using Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Power BI, Business Objects, Cognos, or other reporting tools
  • Ability to create ETL processes using Microsoft Integration Services, Informatica, or other data integration tools
  • Experience writing effective technical specifications or other documentation
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with a wide range of audiences and maintain interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to perform basic problem solving and apply critical thinking, deductive reason and inductive reasoning to identify solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
