About the position

The BI Developer II - WFH position at HCA Healthcare is focused on leveraging business intelligence (BI) tools and analytics to enhance service management and enterprise process efficiency. This role involves participating in the entire BI lifecycle, from requirements gathering to data analysis and report creation, ensuring a standardized approach to BI reporting and data governance. The developer will collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve issues and improve BI solutions across the organization, all while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the BI lifecycle from requirements to data analysis, report analysis, and understanding of business processes.
• Build knowledge and assist in the execution of strategies, plans, tools, and approaches for successful BI report development.
• Generate, format, interpret, and prepare reports, scorecards, and dashboards to support business objectives.
• Conduct in-depth 'what if' analysis of data using available tools with direction and supervision.
• Collaborate with BI teams and leadership on program issues and risks, identifying solutions as needed.
• Understand data to develop and design reports effectively.
• Present data informally and facilitate discussions regarding data outputs.
• Collaborate with internal team members to integrate solutions requiring additional data.
• Assist in BI reporting solutions, including joint-analysis with application development teams and user adoption support.
• Participate in IT and departmental project activities, including project meetings, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred, but equivalent job experience may be considered.
• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• 3 years of management experience.
• Proficient in ServiceNow Operational Reporting.
• Proficient in Tableau, Qlikview, or PowerBI.
• Advanced SQL experience with understanding of relational database systems and data modeling.
• Experience in an Agile BI reporting development environment.
• Advanced understanding of BI tool architectures, functions, and features.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
• Python experience preferred.
• Javascript experience preferred.
• Understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology is preferred.
