About the position

Dallas County Hospital District DBA Parkland Health is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer II to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is pivotal in meeting our customers' analytic needs by designing, testing, and implementing high-value Business Intelligence solutions. The successful candidate will utilize industry-standard reporting tools to generate basic reports as requested and leverage the latest Business Intelligence development tools, methods, and technologies to implement high-performance analytic solutions. In this position, you will facilitate communication and problem resolution with physicians and staff in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaboration with team members is essential to learn business processes and capture requirements relative to proposed solutions. You will be responsible for documenting each step of development to ensure adequate communication within the team and with customers. Providing prompt responses to customer problems and inquiries is a key aspect of this role, as making the customer's experience the first priority in all operations is crucial. Additionally, you will resolve ITSM incidents and requests independently within SLA timelines, taking ownership of incidents and requests with minimal dependence on other team members. The ability to handle conflict with peers diplomatically, without allowing personal feelings to negatively impact outcomes, is essential. You will also be expected to respect, share, and cooperate with fellow teammates while acting with integrity. Following all department procedures, including Weekly Status Reports, Customer Delivery, Customer Communications, and Request Creation, is a fundamental part of this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 24 months of experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and languages.
  • 12 months of experience working with health data.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using industry-related development tools (e.g., Crystal reporting, WEBi reporting, Digital Board Room, Power BI).
  • Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) server-based SQL coding like Oracle PLSQL.
  • Experience working with data warehouses (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
