This opportunity entails being responsible for creating and maintaining business intelligence solutions that turn data into knowledge. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying compelling and visually appealing Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards and reports, as well as collaborating with other teams to integrate systems and data sources. A strong background in data and business analysis, along with experience in BI technologies and data warehouse design, is essential. You should also possess strong SQL skills, analytical abilities, and a problem-solving aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Translates business needs to technical specifications.
• Designs, builds and deploys BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools).
• Maintains and supports data analytics platforms (e.g. MicroStrategy).
• Creates tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes).
• Conducts unit testing and troubleshooting.
• Evaluates and improves existing BI systems.
• Collaborates with teams to integrate systems.
• Develops and executes database queries and conducts analyses.
• Creates visualizations and reports for requested projects.
• Develops and updates technical documentation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and 3 years of related experience, or Master's degree in computer science or related field and 2 years of related experience, or in lieu of education, 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist.
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI).
• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in computer science.
• Transportation industry experience is preferred.
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining.
• Consulting experience.
