About the position

As a DigiKey Intern, you will participate in various aspects of the DigiKey department to which you are assigned. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced team members and engage in a capstone project that you will develop throughout your time with us. The internship is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences that will enhance your understanding of DigiKey's operations and the electronic components distribution industry. Interns will be provided with local campus housing, which includes a private room, private bath, and shared living space for those selecting Thief River Falls as their internship home base. However, please note that housing is not available for internships based in Bloomington. This role is hybrid, requiring onsite attendance to facilitate collaboration and learning. Throughout the internship, you will assist with day-to-day tasks and projects in your assigned department, support the team in their regular duties, and participate in team meetings to contribute to brainstorming sessions. You will collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives, conduct research and analysis as assigned, and maintain organized records of work and project files. Additionally, you will attend requirements meetings with business users to research and analyze data, ultimately producing datasets using SQL and creating visualizations for user access. This internship aims to help you gain practical experience, develop business skills such as communication, project management, and data analysis, and build a professional network within the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects in the assigned department

Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate with education in an applicable area of study
  • Strong interest in hands-on learning experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Average to above-average computer ability
  • Willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of relational databases and at least an introduction to SQL
  • Attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Good communication skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
